Time to get spooky
I think people overreact to races (or species if you want to be more accurate) in D&D having strong affiliation with an alignment. If dragons have set alignments due to their scale color, other species can have their alignments influence my their culture, society, genes, and magic (both mortal and gods). Also, funny how it’s always for evil races, and no one complains about elves and dwarves being associated with the good axis of the alignment chart.
