I’m a christian, and I use the cuss term “Hell” alot admittedly. lol
Obviously, I’m not a very strict one. In fact, my christian parents cussed constantly, and let us watch PG-13, and some rated R movies when we were kids.

@Myoozik
I remember a guy said he thinks it was worth it just to bring closure to Bo-Peep, a character forgotten in the third movie.

People are saying she’s too “sexualized” because she used to be stick-thin.

Whereas now she’s noticeably more curvy.

Keep in mind, though, that she’s also at least ten years older now than she had been, since the characters age in real-time, like… what? Are people expecting the characters to stay looking the same forever?

Y’know, it feels like the modern trend of people shouting that, “Female characters shouldn’t have bewbs/curves/hips/thighs” is a new more subtle form of “body-shaming,” and like the modern equivalent of people centuries ago, calling women whom show so much as their ankles as “whores.”

Yeah, why doesn’t anyone complain about that?

@Beau Skunky
It really does seem like that, doesn’t it? Particularly in animated media, I see this trend popping up. As if being curvy or having boobs is somehow inherently sexual in and of itself.

It’s happening with comics, and video games too. (And anime makers are especially taking heat.)

I can understand female fans not wanting characters too sexualized, but some flip out even over ones that so much as have an A-cup bra size. It’s not like we can pretend women don’t have body parts that stick out, and in a way, it seems to be making the female form out to be a “perverse/disgusting” thing, and is not progressive nor feminist honestly.

It also feels like a double-standard, because people have no problem with male characters/superheroes/wrestlers being shirtless, only wearing briefs, huge buff muscles, or having “unrealistic body preportions/giving young males low self esteem,” and such.

Well, people can like stuff.

@Meanlucario
You mean the notorious “Boobs and butt” pose? Truthfully, I haven’t seen it that much lately, but I’m talking about people getting bent over a character so much as having A-cups, or something.

Gorillaz has gotten a lot better recently. They had a low point with Humanz, but Song Machine has been mostly good.

Yeah, it honestly makes me fear that my work will come under fire if my webcomic ever gets off the ground.

The only Song Machine song that has disappointed me was Friday 13th. Where Octavian sounds like he just did a line of crushed Ambian and wondered into the studio.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable for fans to complain when artists deviate from their usual style

I’m kinda the opposite. I kinda miss off-model moments in cartoons, and stuff, as I prefer flawed styles.
When everything’s “perfect,” sometimes it looks too machine-made, or homogenized. I dunno how to explain it.

Like say Beavis & Butthead, Superjail, or old Simpsons sometimes have flaws, but they somehow look more human, and can make animation a bit more fluid sometimes. I even kinda like the aged colors/film in old cartoons sometimes.

Fans have every right to complain, but bands have the freedom to adjust their style if they wish. Attempting to claim otherwise it comes across as being overly possessive.

I’m a personal sucker for the Coyote And Roadrunner cartoons if I’m being honest. I really like how surprisingly great everything looks in motion, yet when I put attention in very minor details, I noted those small imperfections I didn’t notice before.

The problem is when the artists starts fearing their fanbase when it comes to experimenting with new sounds

Look at Weezer and U2 and how bland they became because their fanbase rejected their experimentations
