I half agree with you.
 
On the one hand, I certainly agree that her political beliefs were certainly questionable and her writing was incredibly tedious. On the other hand, I don’t believe it’s “one of the biggest cancers in modern society,” since most people I know of agree that her writing and political beliefs were BS.

A shame that some of Rush’s best work (“2112” and “Anthem”) was heavily inspired by Ayn Rand’s literature and beliefs. That said, they’re still great songs, and Neil Peart has said that he no longer agrees with her stance.

I think Atlas Shrugged was meant to be more of a cautionary tale of government intervention run amok in America than a prayer to capitalism. After All, Ayn Rand was born and raised in Soviet Russia, IIRC.
