I have very good reason to be happy. Today I saw the last episode of the first season of The Owl House in German. That alone is of course nothing special now. But I noticed something today.

In the German version of The Owl House (Willkommen im Haus der Eulen) Eda, Lilith and Belos are spoken by three very famous German voice actors.

Eda: Dagmar Dempe (German voice of Meryl Streep)
Lilith: Claudia Urbschat-Mingues (German voice of Angelina Jolie)
Belos: Philipp Moog (German voice of Ewan McGregor/Owen Wilson)

For me this is something special. Of course, I prefer to watch the English original, but it’s just especially funny for me when I see the German version and then have the faces of these famous actors in my mind because of the same voices I’m used to. I hope you can somehow relate to what I mean now. ;-)

In any case I hope for further seasons. The shiw is too good to end like Kipo after only three seasons. Or like some Animes already after only one.

Well, we’ll certainly have to wait for season two. I would like the idea of Luz teaching Eda and also Lilith her form of magic. As contrary magic to the magic of Emperor Belos.

And anyway, I’m still not sure that King isn’t really a king. I don’t know if he really is king of demons, but I would never underestimate that little guy. ;-)

Nope! And I’ll tell you why: Luz’ encounter with the Bat Queen reveals a way to get behind the secret of the staffs. And Luz already possesses with four magic spells (Light, Ice, Fire, Plant) already three out of four elements (Water/Ice, Fire, Plant/Earth), which will surely give her various magic options in the future. Basically she just lacks an Air magic, at least if you don’t necessarily associate light with air.

I personally do not do that, and I also think that Luz still has a lot to learn. But I wouldn’t like the idea that Luz learns almost everything in the first season. Certainly there are still many things that she still has to learn. Especially to be able to protect the human world from Belos.

But with two witches, one demon and at least three friends, Luz is certainly able to build up an effective resistance. Provided, of course, that certain individuals do not go rogue. Here I put all my hope for an exciting second season and I hope at least for a third final season.

But I still have certain doubts about Disney. It would be unfortunate if the real potential were not recognized here. But we’re talking about Disney. Therefore certain concerns are unfortunately presupposed. :-/

I just hope the show doesn’t go the way of Gravity Falls and Wander Over Yonder.
