I don’t buy it. Like I mentioned, if somebody came into Guardians blind with zero knowledge of MCU or its source material I’d guarantee they wouldn’t know it was a superhero movie. It’s a scifi gunslinger movie.

The group composition is Dungeons Dragons in Space.

Matter fact Dungeons Dragons Thieves Honor is almost beat per beat Guardians but in Sword&Sorcery, but we know the DnD movie is not a superhero movie.

So I’d argue that Guardians is cape movie only by association to the larger MCU.

Yeah, I’m not on board with that either.

Mario can be goofy, but Zelda requires a level of reverence that I don’t think the studio is capable of.
