Compared to it's contemporaries, Digimon's English dub was fairly faithful. No entire episodes left out,most names of characters and things left intact. The biggest changes were usually just gag dialogue. Despite that,the plot stayed pretty close.
I can't say the same for Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh,One Piece,Dragonball,or all the other animes marketed towards kids around that time.

Yeah, I always found people making a federal case out of every single one minor change (often even not having seen the Japanese original themselves) to be a much much MUCH greater barrier to my enjoyment than the fact that “Taichi” was shortened to “Tai” (the horror, the horror!)

I actually am one of those guys who never complained about the changes. Even bizzare changes ones like hamburgers and flapjacks in Pokemon or Son Goku being written to be more like a superhero.

Btw I unironically LOVE the infamous Ghost Stories dub. I mean, if I could handle that I can handle any changes to any anime.

I still think anime dubs should be kept relatively faithful to the source material, with a dash of woolseyism for bits that wouldn't work well in spoken English.

Well makes sense since Hulu still exists in America for obvious reasons and most Hulu/FX productions are aimed at America audience I wonder if Overseas will get confused
