Baby wake me up when they have the soundtracks for the Star Fox and Xenoblade games
Also will be interesting to see how they handle Smash Bros. 64 and Melee should be no issue but after that it becomes a problem with all the 3rd party franchises

Yeah, sadly we probably can’t expect the entire Smash soundtracks. Heck, we didn’t get much FF7 music until the Sephiroth DLC, because of rights issues.
And they definitely can’t use the Sonic music, seeing as almost every Sonic Smash theme, but one is taken directly from a Sonic game. (Sonic honestly gets neglected in the SSB remix department. Even Pac-Man got more remixes than him.)
And even Sega doesn’t have full ownership over the Sonic 1&2&3 soundtracks.

That said, I’m hoping they at least put Rare’s soundtracks on the app, DK64, Banjo-Kazooie, Diddy Kong Racing, those soundtracks are absolute bangers.

The DK games are likely, but I dunno about the Banjo Kazooie series as Microsoft owns that. (And apparently allegedly stated they think “Nobody cares about Banjo Kazooie,” which admittedly is ridiculous seeing how people were so happy “Tooie” was released on Switch recently.)

Yeah but I’d really like to see Adventures, Assault, Command, or Zero’s soundtracks included both because I they have great songs, and just to fucking acknowledge the existence of anything other than 64

Went to see Venom 3, I didn’t like it as much as Carnage but it still delivered some cool moments, including The ending where several symbiotes fight against the Xenophages.

I loved seeing all the symbiote cameos at the end. We definitely got Phage, Agony and Lasher, though oddly enough we didn’t get Scream. Of all the Life Foundation symbiotes she’s usually the one to get the special treatment. On top of that we got what I’m pretty sure were allusions to Hybrid and Anti-Venom.
I also found some amusement at how they used Phage. Riot already stole his shtick in the first movie of creating knives and blades, so Phage ended up stealing Riot’s shtick of creating hammers.

fiction writers can’t seem to get away from earth/human exceptionalism.
Earth is seen as a random planet with a relatively weak and primitive civilization compared to other spacefaring civs, but narratively earth somehow always takes center stage and the plot revolves around it.
Which is jarring to me since I suspect that, when writing fiction that includes a diverse galactic civilizations and community, the message should have been:
The world doesn’t revolve around earth or humans. We and the space rock we live in, aren’t special.
…
But ironically, in many commercially successful mainstream sci-fi, WE KINDA ARE.
So it’s really confusing.
Especially stupid in superhero comics or in Dragon Ball.

I mean, from a meta perspective it makes a lot of sense.
I mean, from a meta perspective it makes a lot of sense.
If a threat is coming from space, then them having conquered other planets is usually a prerequisite.
And heroes tend to come from Earth because we are from Earth. Familiarity and not having to develop an entirely new species and culture from scratch and all that for the audience to relate to.
Obviously stories where we stand no chance against such threat exists and is its own genre, but a majority of stories have the heroes win for a reason.

I don’t mind those stories if the underlying message is that: we are special after all.
but in stories where it’s implied or explicitly stated that we aren’t special, where the creation mythos explains that earth and humans are accidents, same as everyone else,
it doesn’t work for me personally, because I KNOW that the story, even the lore, was authored with intent.
Especially with the given biases that you told me.
What I’m saying is: If you wanna make a story where we’re favored and special…then we are. No need to mask it like we’re somehow happy accidents.

I always appreciate Mass Effects take on what makes humans unique is our genetic diversity.
All aliens have their own weird biologies like the asari being all women and can breed with any member of any species and sex or krogan having a redundant backup nervous system and four nuts.
And humans are the same our weird thing is that our genetics are a lot more varied than any other species.
Like if you think about it’s a rare thing to see alien races that are ethically diverse so it must seem weird to other species for us to be like that.

Seeing how Rare gave Nintendo rights to their DK and StarFox games, they shouldn’t have any issues with those.

Well, they did have a StarFox Assault level in Smash for WiiU, Krystal as an assist and spirit in Ultimate, Planet Sauria was mentioned in the StarFox Zero promo anime short, (the cool one that looked like Beastars) and such, so they do regard other StarFox games, and provided there isn’t any issues with Namco/Bandai for Assault, they shouldn’t have any issues with other StarFox games as Nintendo pretty much fully owns them.
Hope they had the original SNES music as honestly the StarFox SNES music is awesome, and arguably has a great theme song too.
