In the game that’s how I felt.

Looking at it realistically is wierd.

It looks like it weighs just short of a ton. Nuclear powered? how do you keep the wires from exploding and cooking the person alive?

Then all the power armours, Enclave or whatever walking in formation, when those machines look like they would be carried by Chinooks and dropped into the battle field close quarters individually.

I’ll still hit that shit. I always loved fallout, and always had a personal hangup with the powerarmour. no big deal.

That’s the point. Power armor in Fallout is supposed to turn the guy into a walking tank with all the sluggishness that implies.

If the BOS start judo flipping or pulling some Iron Man nonsense then I’mma boot up Minecraft, find the nearest cliff, and walk off it.

Jetpacks are a thing you can add to power armor in 4.

And FO 4 and 76 made a point that even with a jetpack the armor was heavy AF.

I don’t want a superhero landing if they use a jetpack. I want a crater.

I hear Jim Carrey won’t be in this one, so I’m not sure the magic of the first two movies will hold.

Working on a system for a game idea and I’m trying to get across why magic isn’t wide spread so I’m thinking of having it be so gaining magic levels reduces all your other level caps as it takes a toll on your body and mind,

Magic Users who can bend reality to whatever the heck they want don’t need guns and I will die by that mindset.

The book I am…very very slowly working on has a limiter on magic as well.

I rationalized it that in order to cast magic of any kind, users have to be able to physically weave spells together with strands of energy that bleed through reality, and the only true “magic users” (those that can do the really crazy shit) are ones born with a way to actually “see” those strands and thus have an inate ability to wield it.

Everyone else has to use trinkets, incantations, or other special means.

So there aren’t a bunch of uber powerful mages running around and a good sword/flint lock will still do wonders.

Further if you become a lich which is needed to keep progressing your magic past 100 you find out they aren’t what they seem, they aren’t the same person or even truly sentient and you get basically the same treatment as a vampire the masquerade player who loses all their humanity and your character becomes a new lich npc just like the ones you can find already in the game,

The Xcom games did something like that in the backstory for the Ethereal aliens.

They have immense psionic abilities, but centuries of overreliance on them made their physical bodies atrophy. Autopsies reveal that their bodies are barely even functional anymore; they have to use their psychic powers to puppet their own bodies now.

I got laid one night after explaining Warhammer 40k lore to a girl I met at a bar.
