You are already booped.
Someone mentioned Mario enemies from the nonstandard games that they’d like to see back. You know who I’d really love, above even Tatanga? Mouser! You don’t get much better than a mouse that throws bombs at you, and that you have to throw them back. To up the difficulty, make ’em Bob-ombs like in the cartoons! You gotta handle your still-dangerous moving targets with care to toss ’em back.
Also, speaking of SMB2, there’s Clawgrip. He’d be the boss version of another returning foe, this one from the old Mario Bros: Sidestepper. Sidesteppers would be much like their original counterparts, speeding up when you hit them from beneath, and with the claws up, they’d be unstompable still. They’d travel the full length of things like ledges made of brick blocks, but on the ground they’d be true to their name, going back and forth a certain distance (and still speeding up after a normal hit; they’d take three fireballs/shells/whatever.) The boss of the castle/tower/airship at the end of the world where you meet ‘em is good ol’ Clawgrip, throwing rocks like in SMB2 but also being very mobile. We’d meet them kinda late; they’re less elite than Hammer Bros but they well outrank your average Goomba.
Also, with airship levels being more mechanized, I wouldn’t say no to an Autobomb or two. Also, Mechakoopas. (I’d especially like to see the variants from Super Mario Maker 2 show up in the next game, though though do get enough use by some really good makers in SMM levels that it’s not like “there’s this awesome enemy we haven’t seen since that one game in 1989, whyyyyyy!?!?”)
…In fact, now I’m thinking of Robirdo. Which would be more like a Birdo on an Autobomb, this time. A few hits knock it off, leaving it to attack differently, for a sort of Zelda-type multi-stage battle. But I really, really, really want Mouser back, and have ever since I was a kid.
