Pony references do not follow the laws of time

I just read a bunch of extremely cringe reviews for part two of MotU Revelation.
I honestly wonder what critics see in this. Interestingly, the reviews are aware of the backlash the first part got, but they brush it off as just angry sexist fanboys.
They say that the first half had to be bleak in order to raise the stakes and set up the situation. I’d argue there are no stakes when you’ve shown you can kill and bring back to life any character for whatever reason they pull out of their ass.
Especially frustrating is that the critics completely miss how petty Teela is now. She’s considered a strong female role model character, and I just don’t get it. Even if I liked the show I wouldn’t call Teela strong and most certainly not a role model.
The other thing that pissed me off was one critic in particular who claimed that Revelation allows us to care about characters who we never cared about before because they were just toy commercials.

Still doesn’t make sense for a G4 plushie held by Yelena to end up in a 90s setting, where G2 is ongoing. Afterlife at least takes place years after the first two.

If it’s all CGI then maybe.

For some reason I don’t think the same amount of folks would be as interested in a 2D Cinematic Universe compared to Live-Action.

There are plenty of animated DC movies. They get released quietly on dvd, though. Marvel had a fairly successful run of animated movies, some of which were loosely connected.
I think it all depends on how they’re marketed.

At least it’s better than wishing the MCU wouldn’t be live-action so people can stop being hypocrites about liking MCU and yet disliking everything else when it comes to live-action adaptations. Yes, non-comic adaptations (whether it be toys, games, anime, etc.) have a bad rep and track record over the quality or because it’s not animated, but there were also bad comic book adaptations such as Fant4stic (released in the same year as the Jem and the Holograms movie, and it was just as bad as the latter).

Comic books and graphic novels shouldn’t be an excuse to be the only medium to be turned into live-action nor should be the excuse to not be turned into animation.

DC has had a commercial and critical field day with their animated content for the last 30 years. Meanwhile Marvel’s animated showing has been firmly hit-or-miss.

It’s quite the contrast. You go to Marvel for live action superhero content, but you go to DC for cartoons. And you avoid the opposite.

that, and LoL in general is a giant money skin that is horribly unbalanced from a gameplay standpoint right now from what i heard, and the game had built up a reputation for having a very toxic playerbase.
