I don't mind those stories if the underlying message is that: *we are special after all.*

but in stories where it's implied or explicitly stated that we *aren't* special, where the creation mythos explains that earth and humans are accidents, same as everyone else,

it doesn't work for me personally, because I KNOW that the story, even the lore, was authored *with intent.*

Especially with the given biases that you told me.

What I'm saying is: If you wanna make a story where we're favored and special...then we are. No need to somehow mask it like we're somehow happy accidents.
