I may have just seen a tiny speck of the arms of the Milky Way Galaxy from my house just this midnight. This is Manila were talking about and I mean it’s like a 1 in thousands of chance that I was able to view a starry night sky through a usually high lit and polluted big cities like mine. Amazing.

Let’s appreciate how a big and dirty megapolis like Metro Manila are now finally able to view such clear skies that I could see a faint view of our own galaxy in a starry night sky all thanks to the month-long lockdown quarantine.

It is indeed interesting that the worldwide lockdowns/quarantines have led to a decrease in carbon footprints and other such pollution!

I’m not surprised there’s been a drop in pollution given that society as a whole has slowed to a crawl amidst the pandemic. And it’ll be a while before society resumes normal operation.
