I was going to make the obvious joke about how it’s no surprise because your typical Tool fan would consider Van Halen beneath them.
Then I realized I wouldn’t have recognized Eddie Van Halen on sight either because I never got into them.

I don’t know anything about Eddie Van Halen either except I kinda like a couple of their classic songs enough to enjoy them when they’re on the radio or my friends play them. However, I would think that a moment like that even being able to happen might be indicative of the guy being down to earth and a real person. Even if I had no idea how Kanye West or most other pop and rock stars today look (and I don’t think I do), I imagine if I ever ran into them they’d be unapproachable and flashy, clearly the type of person who acts like they are above everyone else at least in some way. The fact you could go up to a legend and get them to not only take your picture but not know they were “special” or “someone above your security clearance” speaks something nice about their character I think.
