Bung a rock at it!
Well, Lavender Town and Giygas were always rather freaky.
But there was a pony song which I found pretty scary too:

Two entries off the top of my head right now:
- Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima
- The distorted guitar section that starts about halfway through side 2 of Hergrest Ridge.

Second on Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima. This is what I came here to say.

Giygas battle like Sel said.
Sign of Evil from Doom 1 is what misery and isolation sounds like, it’s a bit calm though, like someone used to eating shit.
Maybe not scary, but kinda badass, since everyone is talking about Pokemon. The Champion theme in Pokemon R/B/Y throws like 4 rondos in a row. It doesn’t have enough suspense to be truly scary, but hits like a brick wall.

The opening movement to Messiaen’s Turangalîla-Symphonie is another classic inspiration of dread when it hits up the statue theme. Conjures up imagery of being stalked by a melanistic jaguar near Aztec pyramids during an invasion of arachnid aliens.

The “Surgery Prep” music from “Get Out”. The chanting, plus the EKG machine beeping, and finally the implications on what the family planned to do with Chris, made my blood run cold the most when I rented the movie last year.

The background music that list channel dark5 uses for their videos.
Also, the fact that the thread title has a typo bothers me.
