  1. believe in building up military.

Build up to what degree, exactly? America already accounts for ~1/2 the world’s total military spending.

I’ve always thought the problem isn’t that our military isn’t too big, but that the command staff is completely incompetent to the point that poorly supplied guerilla fighters scheme circles around them. Make no mistake, I’m all for armed conflict, but if you’re going to invade a country, damn well do it right or don’t bloody bother.

I’d be wary about using that question to gauge someone’s political affiliation: There is a severe difference between someone’s beliefs regarding property rights, and their property rights.

This feels like troll bait. Just putting that out there. Maybe if it wasn’t the part calling out left wingers/democrats/liberals then I wouldn’t be seeing any red flags here.

Maybe I’m just over-anticipating negative reception, but that happens when every other damn place I’ve been on ignites into bitter blood over the concepts of political affiliation.

4. Believe that America shouldnt be on other countries
5. believe in building up military.

Uh…that’s rather ironic. A military only needs to be built up in times of war. Like someone else said, the spending on military is insane in the U.S, what reason do we need to spend more money on it, and have even more military other than occupying nations like what conservatives are against.

You know what I mean. Just say what you think about the subject. I’m not going to criticize anything you say, just going to tell you where I think you fall based on your answer

I’m conservative in that I believe in a smaller government and personal accountability.

In every other aspect I consider myself a moderate independent who takes stances on a case-by-case basis.

Really? Even though I support things like polyamory/polygamy, no-questions-asked abortion rights, complete deregulation and legalisation of drugs and sex work, major deregulation of nearly everything else, ending corporate welfare, ending the military-industrial complex, privatising as much as possible; y’know, the usual libertarian positions.

Ascribing to a static political ideology is foolhardy as it locks you into a narrow, often destructive, single point of view. That being said, I tend to be politically left, at least socially. I’m fiscally conservative to a degree, save for my strong stance of being pro-organized labor. I’m also very pro-military. I come from one of the largest military families in US history, and am myself going in as an officer. So needless to say, I take anything relating to the military very seriously.

Pro-Choice, Pro-gay marriage, pro-labor, pro(limited and regulated) social safety nets, pro enough taxes to make sure my water is drinkable and the bridges don’t fall down, etc.

My main peeve of both parties is when they legislate morality and utilize mass censorship. The fuckwad “moral majority” on the right, and the “1942 was a guide book” stateists on the far left. No religion, or government, should have the power to tell me what I can and can’t say, wear, believe, create, etc.

No need to appeal to the middle ground. Most people are more than willing to compromise. Problem is that there is go guarantee that their compromise won’t just be the first step towards what they don’t like.

It’s not really an appeal to the middle-ground insofar as it’s just my personal beliefs. It just so happens that my stance falls on a “middle of the road” sort of area. Ultimately, if worse comes to worse, I default to the left for ideological reasons. I have less conflicts with far leftists than I do with far rights.

“1. support one-man one-woman marriage”

I support this too, though I also support every other sort of marriage.

Generally the idea of opposing gay marriage is down to the bible, though the bible has many cases of polygamist marriages, slave owning marriages, and marriage by virtue of the wife is now owned by her late husbands brother. So I’m not gonna say it’s your best book to take marriage laws from.

The thing is; Marriage is not exclusive to Christianity. Every religion has some form of marriage that is recognized by their government.

And furthermore, Gay partnerships and marriages have existed since before Christianity existed, as indicated by their presence in greek, roman and even Ancient Egyptian civilizations.

So really, marriage, It’s between a human and a human. (and sometimes a woman and a chunk of the Berlin wall. Look it up it’s pretty funny.)

Further back even, back to the Sumerians and Assyrians, and there’s even evidence that the Indus River Valley Civilization had marriage rights of some kind.
