I’ve been lately going crazy about my new phone I got on birthday and Astrophotography is now my new hobby. This camera is quite impressive for a mid ranged device, worth all my mom’s paper.

Oh! Those are stunning! The stars really stand out - Were you freestanding or was that with a tripod and a multi second shot?

Yeah it was placed on a tripod.

ISO is around 100-4000 depending on the surrounding lighting outside (blasted neighbors!!), shutter speed is 32 seconds on this phone’s camera.

On Google Camera app, just go to night mode and a tag: “astrophotography mode” will activate once it’s placed in the dark and it usually take 3 and a half minutes until the photo is fully taken.

Oh and the night sky on my place when these photos were taken? It was actually not that many stars as shown in these photos all because of living in the city basically, light pollution.

If this is what this phone’s camera is capable of taking at night, I could only imagine going outta town with little to no lights and in an absolute clear night sky… This phone might potentially be able to photograph the Milky Way Galaxy no problem! I’m so excited about that. I’ll sure post that if I had the chance.

Appreciate the compliment brada but all these photos are considered amateur by other fellow phone photographers from my Facebook group, this was my actual first time using such photography and they were all impressed by it for a first timer. I could just improve better with this overtime. 😉

Just a reminder though that I got this app manually rather on Play Store because Google Camera were incompatible with most devices on their latest updated version including mine in which I thought I had the most advanced and up to date phone.

I had asked how these people from the group got that app even when they had the same model as mine, they told it’s through YouTube by simply searching “Gcam download”, one video lead me to this link.

A word of caution tho…
There are some downloadable links that may potentially harm on your phone. I had to gamble with this and so far, this phone hasn’t had any trouble with it’s software and hope this stays that way.
