I remember when someone uploaded CP to the site and people were discussing if it was CP or not because it was like an artistic picture but still it was a naked little girl :P.  
Anyway, one of the things I really liked was the big internet dance party thread that occupied more than 2gigs of memory to load, it was one bigass thread of gifs

I remember the 24 hour straight GIF thread. That was awesome and I am glad Maroon recorded that in all its glory.

The Derpygate fiasco actually caused the server to strain.

 
Anyone else remember the gif war here?

Not sure how many people remember it, but when PB was still young one guy posted a picture of a dick with syphilis, and then spent an hour posting the same picture of scorpan.

My best memory was posting over 60 gifs to keep a gif party going after everyone else went to bed.

My best memory is the birth of Roboshi and his rise to power.

Hmm, My memories about Ponibooru? I was a huge lurker, didn’t really say much, but I remember some stuff.

Or that last, long outage where half of us were camped on a humanized futashy image waiting for the site to come back.  
All the horse uterine prolapse spam, the spurdo spam, uploading my first pony image ever.  
So many memories.

I met Prismwind in a Molestia’s dungeon thread and I should invite her to the IRC, she is so naughty. \o3o/

I remember seeing some of my work on PB, some uploaded by me, some by others, getting tagged with “delete by artist request”. Good times. I also remember the huge filter list I had to keep, not because I filtered that much, but because the tags were so widely inconsistent.
 
I used to do some art requests, simple “can you vector this pose/object?” type stuff. Was really the only way I interacted with other people there.

My first exposure to the works of applebeans was a big highlight, as well as pretty much a first exposure to a fan community for the show.

There was a reason for it. Or rather an explanation.
 
Back when PB was starting up, and the site culture “building itself”, FA started getting a lot of pony art. A whole lot, enough that it made artists do one of two things: apply their odd fetishes to pony (which caused a surge or “extreme fetish” images), or hate-art (birth of furry anthros gutting/eating/murdering ponies, which you’ll find in galleries of artists that now do cute pony stuff almost exclusively).
 
So basically the rise of Ponibooru as a community coincided with FA’s own “pony moment”, giving birth to random memes on PB, as well as the expectation that whatever came from there would either be extreme fetish or hate-art

Easy reason. FA was the source of most of the horrible anthro porn. And a lot of people, amazing as it seems now, initially preferred their ponies to be pure, and not have their heads stuck on man-bodies.

I’d like to mention it that this still IS/was a kids’ show, so cloppers starting to complain about that can just get bent…
 
(We also had a lot more problems with tagging. It was impossible to avoid getting these horrors thrown into your face.)

I remember the tags and how they were basically another place for comments. But sometimes it’d result in amusing tags.

I downloaded 22GB of ‘Ponibooru-Select-Safe’ when it died. No regrets.
 
There were a few things I contributed on PB, but I only do bad Photoshops and GIFs, though I’m the person who originally GIFfed the bouncing Lyra’s, one of which was later edited with the words “I’D FUCK IT”.  
Too bad I hadn’t thought of adding captions back then…
 
Oh yes, and whenever something semi-exploitable was posted I would edit in Dickbutt. I know it’s not very original, but somebody has to do it.

There was also another person, I think goes by the name, ThisGuyImpious, Impious, or ThatGuyImpious? He doesn’t seem to be around anymore.
