Perhaps because there would have to be distinction between the different types of musicians? There are the big name stars, then touring musicians, session musicians, independent musicians who aren’t signed to a label, soundtrack musicians, and probably tons of others I’m forgetting. I know there are a few songwriters’ unions as well.

They’re one of those bands whose influence I feel is getting written out of the picture more and more, but they were really quite good.
