DJ Casper, the artist who came up with the cha cha slide, died

Two music legends passed away recently:
The great Michigan singer-songwriter Sixto “Sugar Man” Rodriguez and one of my country’s best roots rockers, Robbie Robertson of The Band.
A double blow there…
Both in their own different ways, too: Not quite as many people aside from lovers of folk and 60s/70s rock may have heard of Rodriguez, making him more of a cult legend now, but his ifluence definitely touched down on fellow musicians.
As for Robbie, most people have heard of (or at least heard) The Band that his death will likely send even bigger shockwaves!
Nevertheless, that’s one pure Michigander and one solid gold Canadian/First Nations person

Cannibal Corpse released another brutal new track called Summoned For Sacrifice

I’m kinda amused people say Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are a Florida band just because Petty and several other members came from Florida.

Even though they spent most of their professional career in Los Angeles.

I can’t believe that I JUST found out that The Bee Gee’s is literally supposed to be The BG’s, The Brothers Gibbs, a reference to their last names. I just realized that earlier today at work.

I got to be quite honest those BTS stans are the worst fans i come cross on Twitter when i say something bad about them.

I just never thought of the name as anything special until a cog started spinning in my head and the realization just hit me like a ton of bricks. Those Englishmen were too smart for their own good to come up with a name like that.

I’m a natural born metalhead but somehow lately, I’ve been getting on the rap game and some other stuff (except fucking k-pop shit) because I’m burning out of the latter.

Maybe my music taste are maturing.

I like to listen to the odd Hip-Hop album every once in a while, whether it’s a classic one or a contemporary one. Especially subgenres like Grime.

I tried getting into rap years ago but never could. Old school hip-hop (The Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash, etc.) is okay but I never care to listen unless it’s a song that samples King Crimson (Power), Gentle Giant (Hyaena, Strange Ways), or some other band I like and it’s usually for that alone.

Is there any special reason?

Rare Earth has got to be the worst music act Motown ever put out.

So out of nowhere, some guy called Oliver Anthony put out a song about how the rich is getting richer while the poor is struggling to survive plus other weird tangents and it’s quickly getting viral to the point that it’s now on track to debuting at number one. What is this year?

I’m not really a huge fan of rap and hip-hop music, but that’s perhaps because I tend to value instrumentals over lyrics. I won’t deny that a lot of rappers are really talented wordsmiths, but it’s not something that has a lot of replayability for me unless the music itself does something really interesting.
