By late November (after US Thanksgiving), I usually begin to settle into the holiday season but don’t go into it headfirst. I tend to be in the mood by the time December starts.
That being said, a huge chunk of the Christmas songs you hear in supermarkets, department stores etc. tend to be crappy, cloying, annoying, or a mix of all three. It’s up to the wise and discerning individual to take the time by themselves or with others to pick out the Christmas-related songs they actually do enjoy. Also, while we’re on the subject of general Christmas songs: The Little Drummer Boy I can definitely do without, but Silent Night is a song I love and I don’t have time for anyone to be dissin’ it!

I actually like JT’s Christmas album because it is enjoyable and festive, but also makes you think. It also has a traditional feel, but not in a commercial sense!
