Great song. Not to be confused with the 4 Non Blondes song, “What’s Up?” which people often mistake as being titled “What’s Going On?”

They were definitely one of the highlights of Woodstock, in a festival that had tons of highlights. That guitar work is insane.

Now, to be sure, they were actually as much a late 60s band as they were an early 70s band. Perhaps even more so the former.
Their debut album was released in 1967 shortly after the Summer Of Love, so they were already increasingly more popular among hippie-ish rock crowds. At least, in the UK. I guess it wasn’t really until Woodstock that Americans really began to discover them

Just discovered Muse’s music was used as a main theme for World War Z. Rad movie I just watched about the health apocalypse during a real life health crisis.

Oh my bad.

I had a hunch they were from the early 60’s since those current event themes were very prevalent during that time, and a bunch of 70’s hippie bands were hedonistic with their songs like smoking weed, having sex and gawking over girls and vague ideas about world peace. Woodstock was a blessing to the US since like you said, it introduced bands from over the pond more to American viewers.

It kills me that Damon never got to collab with Bowie.

I can almost hear what a Gorillaz + Bowie song would sound like whenever I listen to Blackstar. Girl Loves Me especially sounds almost Gorillaz in tune. I can picture 2D in some places.

It would have been cool. As weird as it may sound at first, though, I really would have liked to see Gorillaz do a song with Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead.
Hear me out. Gorillaz have done heavier songs before, particularly on the first two albums, so bringing Lemmy on board wouldn’t have been too out there. They’ve never really collaborated with any metal musicians before, so that would have been something to hear. Plus I feel like Lemmy and Damon would have really gotten along well if they had met. Alas.

Congratulations to Olivia Rodrigo for her second number one song with “Good 4 U”, her first being “Drivers License”. I really do like the MGK style pop punk sound, gives it a sort of 2000’s vibe to it. Other than that, the singing is alright and the lyrics are typical teen stuff. Don’t know if I like this one better than “Deja Vu”.
