You know why they keep pushing AI down our throats? Because in an age where zero-interest-rate-policy is never coming back, AI to them is the only way to ensure explosive economic growth continues in an era of rising labor costs.

I know this post is not music-related, but literally every industry is salivating over AI. Meaning the Grammys are going to keep doing this if it means desperate ratings bumps.

I’m just noting why the Grammys might have wanted to push an AI song in the noms. Likely because their advisors pushed for it if they felt it would bring them relevancy to potential investors.

I don’t think it has anything to do with profits, I feel like they were trying to stay relevant in the modern landscape without understanding AI

You know… I wonder if them finally falling back has something to do with the recent case that determined that AI-generated art (songs falling under that banner) can’t be copyrighted. Kind of hard to give an award to a piece of art that, legally, the people who released it can’t own.

Their original justification for having it be eligible is because it was written by a human despite it being performed by a machine and not by a human

Say what you want about Taylor, at least there’s a legitimate legal reason she’s re-recording her entire backlog. I genuinely don’t think Roger has a reason besides his ongoing feud with Dave.

According to the interview with Nick Mason on Live at Pompeii from the Abbey Road sessions, by 1971, Floyd were in danger of being seen as something of an act of the past, as none of their 1970s stuff had done as well as their 1960s material, particularly their stuff with Syd Barrett. Atom Heart Mother and Meddle are beloved now, but they didn’t do great upon their original release (the record company especially dropped the ball on promoting the latter in the States). But The Dark Side of the Moon changed everything, and suddenly they were huge stars. Plus it also changed the dynamic, cementing Roger Waters as their band leader.

Oh? Well, have fun! I’ve heard Peter Gabriel can still really do a good live show!

Yes, I know. The period before DSOTM and after Piper was basically their “wilderness period”. They did release some gems during that time though, that’s for sure!

And yes, I’m sure I will have fun! He had so many hits back in the day, ones that I know like the back of my mind, and it’s awesome he’s still going strong!

I was today years old when I find out that Gerard Way of MCR used to be an intern for Cartoon Network and actually pitched his own cartoon that got rejected.

It was an idea he had called “Breakfast Monkey” about a monkey chef flying around delivering breakfast to people but Cartoon Network rejected it because I guess they weren’t interested in it
