To be fair, people do throw things at musicians for the weakest reasons. I may have said it’s common practice, but if there are any good reasons for doing it, it’s extremely, extremely hard to think of any,
As you’ve said, there’s a very high injury risk for both the band and the audience if the impactful object misses, plus people most often do it for the dumbest reasons.

Back when Def Leppard first started gaining traction and they played at Reading Festival in 1980, it’s been said that people threw objects at the band onstage for supposedly “selling out” to the American market and betraying their early NWOBHM roots.

When I said Mustaine was right, I didn’t mean to say at all that it was acceptable. If it came across that way, that was an oversight. I just assumed he was talking about how common it was

So am I. Even though I said it’s commonplace and has been practiced for many decades, that doesn’t make throwing things at the stage a good thing.

The difference between Pop and Metal concerts is Pop has loud fanboys and Girls and Metal has MOSH PITS loudness and sometimes wall of death and circle pit were people go crazy.

Even as a huge and dedicated Def Leppard fan, it took me years to warm up to that album due to how different the sound is compared to when they started out… but time truly vindicates that album, and in my case at least, it got better with age!

I read about that before - Basically it’s down a number of reasons ranging to disputes over how the song was sung in karaoke bars to the perceived violence in its lyrics, I think

Simple. They shoot you if they hear you butcher Sinatra’s music but lately this is becoming more and more of a myth than it is a fact.
But still, there is still the phenomena of karaoke violence around this place’s most low-tier community. They prolly know jock shit Bowie covered that song.

Last night while playing Far Cry 5 i finished off the new Crypta album it’s one of the best albums in 2023 on Thrash Metal list

I still like Pyromania more, but inasmuch as Hysteria doesn’t have the classic heavy metal sound most fans of earlier 80s metal think of, I can plainly see that it is deserving of its high status!
And yes, as you’ve indicated, the albun can still be called metal. Abandoning that elitist attitude of “what is and what isn’t” is to me a part of growing up.

Really, IMO the biggest difference between Pyromania and Hysteria was that the latter has a more polished sound and that the drums were replaced by electronic drums. But that fact has… well, a good reason, to say the least. (Rick Allen is a freaking master, for real.)

So glad that Jason’s shitty song isn’t number one anymore, even if it was Morgan Wallen reclaiming it for hopefully the last time. Now it’s either Luke Combs, Taylor Swift and (of course) Drake competing for the top spot

So the “Eminem Curse” is an actual thing in MMA because fighters had 60-80% chance they will lose a fight if they walkout to the cage to an Eminem song.
