I didn’t listen to a lot of new albums this year so I can’t make a whole list. I’ll just say that from what I did listen to, Megadeth’s The Sick… The Dying… and The Dead was my favorite, and even then it can’t compare to Peace Sells… But Whose Buying or Rust in Peace.
Maybe I should listen to more new music and hopefully if I’m still here one year from now I could compile a best 2023 albums (and I doubt 72 Seasons will be one of them).

You know, I have thought about compiling playlists and sharing them here but honestly I find it better to just listen to entire albums instead of one or two songs from an album.
Anybody who says Rock is dead gets a wedgie.
I agree (except for the part about people who claim rock is dead should get a wedgie). Rock will never be dead. It’ll never be as popular as it once was (except maybe pop bands like Coldplay which are barely even rock if rock at all and legacy bands like Metallica which are still around and already have a large following) but it’s not dead, just obscure.

I feel like I could easily get into classical, orchestra, or jazz, or really any other genre besides awful pop or rap music if I knew where to start with it. I guess I could listen to Miles Davis or whatever but are there any good jazz bands (or jazz fusion bands) still around today that I should know about?
Really other than rock and metal I don’t listen to much other than video game OSTs and I don’t even listen to those often.

I remember getting a favorite song watching the ball drop in 2020-21. Our Song by Jaymes Vaughan for his proposal to Jonathan Bennett, who are now a proud LGBTQ couple. I still love that song.
