It’s interesting to me how they narrowly avoided becoming a one-hit wonder with their Kinks cover. Most other artists whose first hit is a cover don’t get a second hit.

Currently binging RS songs right now. Especially ones with heavy emphasis on Watts’ drumming.  
I started out with Wild Horses however, not because it’s a hard hitter, but because he was a horse lover

Sad, sad day for Rock music…
 
I posted this status on FB in tribute to him:  
“Just heard about drummer Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones passing away earlier this afternoon.  
Can hardly believe it…  
In public, he was the “silent Stone” with an iron (and very British) resolve and solid drumming technique . One of the greatest rock drummers ever. In private, he was a dedicated and loyal husband, father, and grandfather - arguably more so than many of his rock star comtemporaries.
 
I spent the past hour pouring over my Rolling Stones playlist. Most of the songs were heavy hitters with a strong backbeat from Watts, while the first one I chose was “Wild Horses”, since he was a real equine enthusiast.
