Uff. I’m still honest, I just had to check Wikipedia right now. But yes, the musical style was and is known to me, although I didn’t know that there was already a catchy term for it.
 
Especially VNV Nation is known to me for years. And I also know many remixes and bands within the Future Pop genre. I just never thought that some of Blutengel’s songs would be counted among them. ;-)

Oh, you ask the 40-year-old German man, who hardly dares to leave the house because of Corona. Hehehe. Just kidding. Of course I still have my contacts in the scene a little bit. ;-)
 
Well, currently I would say that of course Pouppée Fabrikk, NordarR, Portion Control and TC75 (Tino Claus) are way ahead. But I like Die Robo Sapiens for very personal reasons.

The latest Song Machine is “filmed” in GTA 5 and this, I don’t know how to react to that.

I just entered this Discord server which is about music and the Billboard Hot 100, and already I see a bunch of BTS fangirls (or the ARMY as they call themselves). Apparently, a future album cover of theirs got leaked and of course, they began freaking out about it and using crying emojis. I didn’t know what to expect…

One of the server roles is literally being a Stan about any pop artist like Bieber, Ariana, Doja, BTS and such. But honestly, the BTS stans in this server don’t look like they’re harming anybody and are just obsessing to themselves so I’m not complaining.

Man, “Wind of Change” is such a great song, but it’s so different from everything else Scorpions ever did.

Well, this song is still considered the so-called “Hymn of the Wende (turnaround)” and is the most successful single from German production. In the opinion of SWR (Southwest Broadcast) “like no other rock song, the song reflects the mood of the times at the end of the 80s, when the great political change began with glasnost and perestroika from the Soviet Union.”
 
In the text, the lyrical ego describes how it walks along the Moskva on a summer night and listens to the “wind of change” that blows over old enmities. The text is committed to East-West understanding and thus hit the nerve of the time. It accompanied the fall of the Berlin Wall and became the anthem of renewal in the Soviet Union.
 
USSR state and party leader Mikhail Gorbachev received the Scorpions in the Kremlin in December 1991 because of this song. In my humble opinion, such a song is written only once in a lifetime. Therefore it is not surprising that this song is unique. I think there is hardly a band in this world that is able to repeat such a historical work. Even though it clearly stands out from the rest of the band’s songs. ;-)
 
The real tragedy in this work is due to the fact that all those hopes of that time did not come true as we had hoped for. :-/

How the hell was I supposed to know that late 60’s bands like The Electric Prunes, The Left Banke, New Colony Six, The McCoys, The Spencer Davis Group and such aren’t one hit wonders? They sure look and sound like one hit wonders to me.

I literally was just listening to them (on vinyl, of course) last week for the full moon.

Well, damn. Erik Grönwall has departed H.E.A.T, and original lead singer Kenny Leckremo has rejoined.  

 
I don’t know how to feel about this. I know that Kenny was the lead singer before Erik, but I first got into H.E.A.T this year with Erik, and IMO their newest album is miles above anything they ever did with Kenny on the first two albums. Still, interested to see where they go with this.

Someone told me to watch the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction of the Doobie Brothers to see something I recognized.
 
Sure as shit, my little old home city was mentioned and shown. Apparently “Black Water” got big in the south when it hit the WROV in Roanoke VA, and from their it sprung up the charts. The Doobies came to the Civic Center a few months later, and they showed some footage from it. Damn building looked the same in the 70s as it does now.
