How has COVID-19 affected you

I’ve been stuck at home for a long time and my dreams have become vivid. Whenever I have alot of free time my dreams are far more extreme, both good and bad.

Due to a quick recovery, many of the restrictions on Malaysian society have been lifted.
 
Everyone still needs to wear face masks, keep a distance, deal with limited seats, and use smartphone apps (MySejahtera and SELangkah) to identify themselves at checkpoints outside shops.

How has COVID-19 affected me?  
In the UK, I watched the data chart of my hometown in devastation, which gave me depression and insomnia. Then when the epidemic escalated into pandemic, I started wearing mask while nobody did. People delibrately walked away from me and gave me weird looks when I walk on the steets. I got angered when I heard Chinese people being discriminated around the world and started carrying weapons on me in case someone wanted a piece of me. Then when stay-at-home order was issued, my timetable was messed up and my family monitored flight info everyday in order to give me a flight ticket back to China.  
When I got back to China, I was sent to hospital for medical observation due to stuffy nose (caused by allergy), then a 3-star hotel for quarantine. Then two weeks later I finally made it back to Wuhan. That was May.31st when all active cases here have been discharged.

We still wear mask when going out and decontaminate our clothes when coming back home. Just because the lockdown has been lifted doesn’t mean the pandemic is over.

As of a week ago, we had an executive order to wear masks in public indoor areas and shops.
 
Wouldn’t have been this way if folks would just wear masks when shopping

My location is now almost halfway through the all out lockdown. Just how strict Duterte is that everyone will be arrested if those without valid permission to go outside their premises only on those places under quarantine.

Where I live mask enforcement is pretty loose. I live in NY,but rarely outside busier cities do most people wear masks. I went to a crowded Flea market,and maybe 40% were masked. Down at the local Burger King/truckstop only the Burger King half enforces wearing a mask.

Well The virus outbreak has completely slowed down my progress at college. I do placement hours, normally 4 a week and was supposed to be finished by now. I was due to finish and graduate this year, looks like I will have to wait until next year. Also I was due to get married in October, thats not happening now.

I ran out of money. A situation I never thought I’d see in my life.

My dad has it right now(though thankfully he’s recovering), but right now I’m unable to go back to work until he’s fully recovered

I’ve received messages that multiple people at the warehouse I work at (they don’t say exactly how many, just say “individuals” each time) have tested positive. I’ve had a lot of anxiety because of it.

Sorry that happened, but there’s no need to worry.
 
Call your physician and ask them what symptoms you should look out for, or look online to get an idea of what kinds of symptoms might tell you that you’ve actually caught it. Then you can watch to see if you might be getting sick.
 
Seems like the only thing MOST people get with Covid is a week or two of low grade fever. Unfortunately that would be anything, so it’s not a very useful feature.
 
But, some people get Covid and recover from it without ever having anything other than a low fever and maybe some muscle aches and lack of appetite.
 
Covid has so many different sets of symptoms, it’s really odd. It’s not like the flu where most people can recognize; “Oh, yeah - you’ve got the flu”. Covid for some people just seems like seasonal allergies and a hangover.

Covid was both positive and negative for me.
 
The downside is i meet up with friends frequently before COVID and we have been unable to do so for safety concerns.
 
The upside is back in January for reasons unrelated to COVID, my hours were cut to half time and COVID caused interest in a project at my work which was on my plate so I got full hours back. I can’t be any more specific or I may give away where I work.
 
On the downside again, I have a soar throat that’s been persistent all day. Hoping it’s not COVID.

The positive and negative thing kinda worked for me. There was less people on the road at the start of all this which meant I could get to where I needed to be faster but I was also working more since I’m an intrastate trucker but I’m also getting more money out of it as well since trucking was considered an essential job. I’m glad I’m not long haul right now

I’ve woken up with a sore throat one morning, and another I went into a coughing fit. While it’s turned out fine, but it keeps leaving me paranoid.
 
Hopefully it’s only that for you too.

I might temporarily leave this site for the rest of this year if something bad happens to my grandmother or any of my family and friends due to COVID-19 like dying from it. I cannot accept a loss of something dearest to the core to me due to an ‘accidental’ fate.
 
Sorry, but for me, this whole China-bred virus BS is slowly turning personal in my daily life.

[protip: Even after you recover from Covid there can be side effects. Like, even after you recover, just getting a scratch causes your entire arm to swell up and blister because your immune system is on overdrive]

From today, I’m not worried about myself anymore. Our situation has gone from bad to worse.
 
My 78 year old grandmother has the virus for a week now and she just got rushed to the hospital yesterday becuase it had worsened overtime. She also had contact with all the people around their house which includes my dad, my cousin and more bothersome, my uncle who has diabetes and they’ve all been isolated from each other ever since she tested positive.
 
I cannot accept the loss of a family member yet, most particularly my beloved grandma who had raised me on my childhood times.
 
Mom is partially furious against grandma because of her recklessness over the past several weeks of disregarding warnings about the virus but aunt defended grandma due to her being forgetful and stubborn. It’s like I’m getting the year 2017 vibes all over again due to the trauma I endured from both sides fighting during that time.

Ah, that’s bad. If she has been rushed to the hospital then she has one of the versions of it that is very bad. I’m sorry that happened. Odds are that everyone in the house has been exposed though, and only time will tell how people respond to it. It seems to attack each person in a different way.
 
I hope your grandmother and you will be ok.

So i just received news from dad again on grandma and they say she’s breathing easier now after an immediate attention on that hospital the moment they sent her in. It’s still chaotic and emotional on their side because it hurts to see her there being all alone in a ward.

It’s excellent news that they were able to get her breathing easier again! And being alone on the ward is not really a bad thing. Hopefully whatever they did to help her breathing will be something simple that you can just take home with you, like an Albuterol inhaler.

I’m doing pretty good. For me, the overall disease was more like having Mononucleosis with tequila hangovers combined with acid-induced hallucinations. I had the “full recovery then 1 week later relapse” but now I’m past that and feeling better. For all but one week of it I could still mostly get by and sometimes help here, but there was one week where I basically was 1 foot out of the hospital.
 
So, basically 2 solid months of lowgrade fever and some random assortment of symptoms, but I’m now in the “my immune system is so over vigilant that every scratch on my body becomes a Chilblain”
 

 
Basically, I’m ‘recovered’ but if I even scratch myself it’s like I have poison ivy or something.
 
My lovely spouse had Covid too, but for her it was no worse than a low fever, insomnia, and no appetite. She didn’t even miss a day of work.
