I found that, I’m just wondering where the next bonfire is, unless there’s something incredibly obvious I’m missing.

Oh, the next bonfire is much further in. Again, DS3 is very shortcut happy, like DS1.

Farming souls is pretty easy outside the Abyss Watchers boss room, since you get 2K-ish per-run.

I started a new run on DS2, this time with the class that starts with two +1 swords, and I’m pretty sure I’m already at the first boss.

Edit: i was wrong.

Apparently you can get the Elite Knight Set by either killing Anri, or doing their questline
I really want the armour, but don’t know if the former option is worth it.

Their quest isn’t that long, honestly. Does require killing a lord of cinders or becoming the lord of hollows. Either one should count for her questline.

Bad news: I went into my current save, and they’d vanished.
Good news: I managed to find the way to Wolnir’s boss room in the catacombs.

A little late on this, but anyway, I think people overestimate how hard the first games were, doesn’t mean they’re not challenging, but people forget that they played these games in order.
I have my own story to prove how DS1 could’ve also been “The Hardest” for me too, how I spent either 8 hours or more beating the Bell Gargoyles with a Halberd, on some level 24 character as I remember, without any weapon upgrades, or any resin. That doesn’t mean they’re the hardest boss, or DS1 is the hardest, it means I was still learning and through them I got good enough to beat O&S solo much faster in that playthrough, fast rolling with my trusty Zweihander.

for me right now, the hardest is the one giving me more trouble with all DLCs and optional content counted, 1, BB, 2. DS3 3, DS1 / DeS / DS2. I look at them from how difficult they were also on replaying them, except for DS2.

Heh. I know very well how your first playthrough of the first game in a series where every game in the series uses similar mechanics affects your perception of how easy or difficult the later games are. ALL TOO FAMILIAR with this with Pokemon. Everyone bitches that the later games are too easy because of their childhood memories of the earlier games being much more challenging than they actually are. Regardless, to say, for example, that Pokemon X/Y is a more difficult game than Pokemon Black/White…there are objective problems with that statement, since one game is DESIGNED to be more difficult than the other, the same way Dark Souls I is DESIGNED to be more difficult than Demon’s Souls.

Heck, even right now, my perception of Dark Souls II is inevitably going to be that it’s a much easier game than I once thought, since I had already played half of it before my save file got screwed. Doesn’t change what is objectively ingrained in its design however, fewer reusable healing items you have to do more work for and more artificial BS.

I hate that DS2 has an achievement for dying.

My brother said to not play DS3 online for awhile, that people are invading and doing something mischievous enough for a patch to be arriving. Any idea what he was referring to?

There’s an exploit that allows hackers to brick your PC or control your character. Some white hats found it and reported it to fromsoftware but they just now got around to acknowledging it.
