- Spike
by far the most interesting character in the show, and one who remains chipper and devoted despite the raw abuse he takes. funny, entertaining, cute, and even with the whole universe seemingly out to keep him down he continues to kick ass by swimming in lava, breathing fire, saving fucking EVERYONE from that iceberg, and his biggest achievement: handling the daily company of snappy mccrumbleunderpressure.
- Big Macintosh
i have a weakness for big softy characters, and his never saying much of anything is decidedly badass. if celestia would hand out alicornification or magical elements to guys like this she’d be out of a job; his sheer charisma would raise the sun and keep the enemies of equestria at bay.
- Applejack
honest, hard working, loyal, generous, kind, silly, and badass, she embodies nearly all the elements of harmony save for magic. she’s also the only member of the mane 6 to have no flight, no magic, no whatever-the-hell-pinkie pie does, and still kick just as much ass as all of them.
- Shining Armor
he’s the underdog. in a world that gives zero fucks about males or their military forces, he’s both and still manages to be heroic and dedicated. he gets his ass kicked by every villain, but never hesitates to stand up to them regardless. when the magical team of ponies with a track record ran like pussies from king sombra, he’s the one who turned and fought. he also banged princess cadance, a definite testament to his charisma.

she’s what you get when you take princess celestia, give her a good color scheme, and have her actually get off her ass and do stuff. while celestia is busy raising the sun, wanking off, and sending teenagers to fight her battles, luna’s raising the moon, working the night shift, and only asks for help when she outright needs it. even her emoification in the dream episode wasn’t enough to reduce her charisma.
Worst: - Maud Pie
sorry maud. a couple ass moments ain’t enough to make up for your one-note joke and complete lack of character, development, personality, etc. yes i get the joke is she’s boring, but it being intentional doesn’t make it any more interesting than a character that’s just boring.
- Treehugger
not only is she a hippy, a character stereotype i already despise, there is literally nothing remotely likeable about this character. her voice, as well as the sound she makes when she tames the smooze, is just fucking annoying.
- Seabreeze
what do you get if you throw the swedish chef, a screamapiller, and sheer pain into the teleporter from the fly? a creature that would be less annoying than this thing. he’s such a black hole of suckage that even being voiced by vegeta wasn’t enough to make him even remotely likeable.
- Fluttershy
this is what happens when you take a character who’s only trait is “is cute”, and put her in a universe where everything is cute. she causes more problems than she solves, and her biggest accomplishment, reforming discord, was accomplished via pure inaction and only worked because everyone got lucky. stuck with an abusive prick, ladies? take the abuse and one day he’ll change! fluttershy says so!

This post triggers me like no other with how wrong it is in almost every sentence. The worst part is that it’s so blatantly wrong that I can’t tell if it’s a joke or not either. I dunno where to start, or if it’s even worth it. At least you got Luna right.
Worst horse?
To me, Shining Armor is the worst horse in the show. I hate him. I hate his face, I hate his voice, and I hate how much screen time he gets. He’s so god damn boring, and without his relationships with Twilight and Cadance to stand on, he’d be a nothing character that’s about as interesting as Flash Sentry is. He hasn’t done anything at all on his own. He had a montage song to shoehorn some slight relevance to Twilight, then married Cadance and put that Flurry baby in her. You know that girl in other shows/movies that exists for the sole purpose of being a guy’s girlfriend and her entire character is based around that single fact? He’s basically that in reverse.
I find him painfully boring to watch, and my disdain for him has grown into hatred over time because of his doofy face being unavoidable. I feel like he exists for the sole purpose of hamming in some plot for other characters to play with. This would be fine as a one off thing, but he’s become more and more prevalent without ever improving on his character, still just being used as a plot device. When I saw Flurry, my first thought had nothing to do with the baby. It was immediately, “God damn it, this is gonna force more Shining in my face.” If this was a more mature rated show, you know he’d be the kind of character they kill off just because it would cause some drama and pain for more fleshed out characters. A lot like super heroes and their boring love interests that get killed or kidnapped for the sake of causing some manpain.
Best horse?
Babs Seed. She’s a qt lil chubby filly with a cute accent and cute colors and an adorable mane/tail and she’s perfect for snuggling. She had a whole episode dedicated to building her a backstory, and then we only got to see her one more time. I want to see her adventures in Manehatten. I want them to build her friendship with Apple Bloom and maybe the other CMC. I wanna see how she feels about Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon actually kinda coming around after their little tiff together. Basically, I want her around as much as Maud is. I’d love to see those two together at some point actually, cause Maud is great and Kraus is wrong.
That IDW comic with her and Trixie being best friends is like my favorite thing ever. I just want to see something like that actually in the show. We’ve been to Manehatten a bunch now, so find an excuse to bring her back out! Show me what she can do with that new cutie mark of hers and that newfound confidence it must give her.

Yeah, you really have to wonder what Celestia can do that Luna can’t. I mean, aside from make hard choices, rule Equestria entirely on her own for 1000 years, do Luna’s job in addition to her own, and never once in all that time succumb to the kind of consuming inner darkness that took her sister.
I guess the moral of the story is, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Unless you’re Princess Celestia.

I disagree with this interpretation. However I’d rather not derail this topic with a lengthy argument on why that is, as I have had more than my fill of those in every other thread where this pops up.

Starlight Glimmer(I thought she was a good villain and I’m happy that she got redeemed.), Flash Sentry (Nice guy), Pie sister (They are all cool in their own way), Button Mash (He likes games, I like gaes, do the math), Rumble( Very cute), Thunderlane (Nice hair and he is so good as a sub in NSFW pics.), and Spoiled Rich (Find her desing cool and she looks nice.). i’d agree if celestia wasn’t doing a terrible job as a leader. but let me stress i’m purely judging what we see on-screen, and the thing is celestia has done absolutely nothing as a character. i mean, i could claim flash sentry was a great character by saying “yeah, off screen he’s an a+ student and he must be working a lucrative job because look at that car, and he’s in a professional band, and…”
a bud of mine honestly thinks that they originally planned to have sunset shimmer in starlight’s spot in season 6 (which actually would have been kind of cool), just because the way they changed starlight’s personality made her practically identical in character. what i’ve noticed, though, is whether you like or hate new starlight is dependant on how fond you were of old starlight. because if you were a fan of old starlight, it’s not just a bland new character but one at the cost of a good character. imagine if you were a shining armor fan and they replaced him with flash sentry. same thing, really.
