2 - Who frowns upon it? 95%+ of my uploads are anon, and so are those of many of the top uploaders
As for comments / forum posts, people should have the freedom to say something without their name giving a bias to what they said, or carry the “stigma” of what they said with them forevermore

2: I meant in the threads. I’m aware it’s against the rules to use anonymous posting to pose as a separate person. I understand why, because obviously people would use it to create or enlarge arguments and annoy others. Also, it seems that it’s highly frowned down upon, even when posting something like a vent or unpopular opinion where you don’t want people knowing you said it. I was just curious why it was there instead of the option posts appearing anonymously being enabled in the settings.

But maybe the answer’s kinda clear, so never mind

When I browse the forums,I see many posts deleted due to “spam”.
What qualifies as spam here?

A rather large number of them (at least those I’ve reported) are just plain spam bots advertising essay writing services, mobile games, gambling sites, and other stuff that does not belong here.

Some forum threads are basically just bot honeypots now. Something about their titles and opening posts attracts bots and their text generators.

I’m sure this has already been brought up, but since thousands of people could generate and upload hundreds of AI-art per day (I’ve already complained about this in regards to screenshots too, but judgement was rendered on that), might it not be a good idea to split the site to separate the two and prevent real art from getting buried? You could even call it derpAIbooru. Just shifting it to a separate index you can toggle between would be preferable to what will become an ever-tipping ratio as the technology progresses, and rendering becomes more accessible to more people. It might also help you filter out artists who don’t want their style copied, forbidding their name in the AI index and not the other.

I know I could just hide the tag, but it would still effect people without accounts and the impression on new users. It can also be difficult to tag AI homunculi, so a separate index would allow looser terms, like body colour, or “Twilight-esque”. Hell, maybe one day derpibooru will have its own generator. I understand the appeal of making art accessible to the unartistic, but I think this event has also shown what that means for spamming content for the sake of content.

Anyway, I assume the answer will be for me to just shut up, but those are my thoughts anyway.

Just a reminder, there is absolutely nothing (other than the expense, time, personal exposure, and expertise involved) keeping anyone from creating a new booru exclusively intended for AI images.

It would be great if there was someplace we could send people when there are problems with their AI uploads here.

Well, you know … “need to know” and not letting other people’s cats out of their bags and all that. If you happen to know someone with a cat like that in a bag, or if you yourself happen to be someone with a cat like that in a bag, what you do with it is entirely your business :)

How much time do you spend on average moderating the site in a week?

A few hours… unless I hit one of those “tag ALL the things” moods. Then it can be triple that. Dealing with conflicts and tricky tagging is way more exhausting than doing tons of tagging.

Has any mods here played Fallout 3 and/or 4? And how tearjerking was it playing either game? I give it 4 tears out of 10!

What is friendship all about?

It seems as though people are doing a lot more posting and commenting than normal because of the contest.
How much has the contest increased site engagement over what it normally is?

I wait for things we did in the 90’s to break (which lately seems to mostly mean Google breaking Asian language text entry and FEPs) and play around looking for ways to break suggest improvements to my friends’ inventions. I also did some things for the people at the place, and sometimes they need a thing done.

Course, the work week is over for me. So time for the whiskey drink, and the lager drink, and the cider drink, and the vodka drink.
