[NSFW] Artist's Group Chat - Draw The Curtains Edition

I don’t want to push you out of your comfort zone or anything, but I would recommend doing some NSFW purely because I’ve found it to be immensely valuable in learning body structure and anatomy. NSFW tends to put a lot more focus on nudity, details, and how bodies interact with one another, than SFW artwork in my experience.

This. NSFW doesn’t necessarily have to be pornographic. Taking a life drawing class or just drawing people around is great too. Its better to look at skeletons and nude bodies than being distracted with clothes first.

What it boils down to, is there are just certain postures, angles, movements, etc that, while I won’t say are exclusive to NSFW, but would be difficult to put into a SFW scenario. So much so that it’s actually fun to try and create SFW scenarios where these do come into play, like this:
 
 
She’s on her back, fully submissive, spread wide open, and reaching to pull the viewer close… and it’s SFW because she’s the cheaper version of the product that lacks a detailed crotch, and is actually teasing the viewer for shelling out the full price XD.

I’ve only one problem with drawing NSFW. (actually 3).
 
Kids. (One’s too young for it to matter yet).
 
They often see my artwork, so I need to be careful what I draw.
 
My 7 year old daughter has seen that Adagio pic I posted.  
That took a bit of explaining, so I don’t want to do anything more explicit.

Thankfully, at least, we’re drawing art of characters that are nude all the time yet completely SFW. And if they can get away with it:

The explanation was more along the lines of “There’s a lot of college age people on that website I upload my pictures on, and they like that sort of thing. You’re too young to explain any more just yet”.
 
Luckily she accepted that and didn’t pry further.
 
She’s way too smart for her age.

Just drawing some nude poses to practice anatomy helps a ton, as well as referencing some stuff from anatomy(like medical stuff…though you don’t need to get nearly as detailed as the diagrams in these books) or art books on anatomy. Though even something like that might be difficult if you have kids…I suppose you could practice when they are at school or something? But then you might have work at that time….I don’t know anything about your irl situation so I can’t really help you there.

I’m in full time work. (41+ hours a week).  
Electrical engineer by trade. (Repair electric motors. The copper coils inside motors? That’s what I do for a living. Replace those when they burn out).  
Drawing is just a hobby for me.  
I do draw the characters basic body shape, then put the outfits on afterwards so they lay right. Those last few I did with the sailor uniforms were done that way, although the Aria Blaze one I messed up a little on the butt area when I drew the folds on the skirt.

sorry to interrupt the conversation but i was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to draw cum? i’ve tried in the past using some of braeburned’s work as a reference. though i can’t quite get the hang of it.
 
it doesn’t nearly look thick enough imo and i think there’s more wrong with the way i draw it but i can’t quite place it, here’s two examples:

Honestly I think it’s pretty good, but maybe just make the drips thicker

I have the reverse problem, I tend to make cum look too thick.  
Shading it is a big part of it, but i don’t know what’s a good color to shade cum with.

As for the thickness thing, the amount of white is usually what makes things thicker looking. Less solid white= thinner looking fluid. This plus how thick you draw the strands and such can communicate how thick/sticky a substance is.

I’ve tried looking for some videos, but I never seemed to find any.is does help a lot tho.  
But what color should I use instead of white? Like off white leaning to blue, pink, or what?

Since the stuff is mostly white naturally, you should pick a faint version of the colour it’s on. Purple rump -> purplish white. You’d be well off using a semi opaque white brush and painting multiple strokes where there’s a thicker part, single strokes where it’s thin.

Yeah, Doxy/Onta makes some pretty helpful tutorials. Some (like this one) are a bit reliant on specific layer modes, but even still are often generally useful.

So I’m curious to hear from whoever’s listening right now. When it comes females with dicks, which is better? Just the male junk or full package
 
I’m not talking about like terminology or like “oh it’s technically not female without the female bits” or any of that kind of stuff, but like when you sit down to draw (or enjoy) such a pic which do you go with and why?

Well isn’t the point of the whole futa fantasy that they have both working sets of genitals? To my knowledge this is impossible in a real life hermaphrodite.  
I’ve always thought that, when it comes to hentai at least, the futa thing was a way for the assumed male viewer to kind of relate to or self insert themselves into a lesbian encounter. Though I guess that assumes the other participant(s) are also women or futa but that usually seems to be the case.
 
The other possibility is that it’s a fantasy for people to be able to experience both sensations from both sets of genitals at the same time, in theory having “double the pleasure” as well.  
It’s probably both, or a hodgepodge of the two.
 
Personally as a straight guy I only find the stuff where the character in question is decidedly female but somehow has a working dick (as well as having a female or similarly futa partner) appealling, if only for the self insert/relatability factor. I can’t get into it if they’re pretty much dudes with tits or if a male is thrown into the mix as one of the partners. I guess I’m comparatively vanilla in this, lol.
 
 
Though the only futa thing I ever drew was an edit of one of my own drawings of Fluttershy and had the “full package” thing going on, so when it comes to what I draw I don’t really care as much.

I’ve like never really given much thought to like the psychology end of it or anything like that. For me personally, it’s literally like a whim which decides which I do. I’m gay but I rarely actually draw my own fetish, so I guess either way it’s like an extension of that or something.
