Introduction
YCH.Art & YCH.Commishes are both commonly used sites for hosting YCH Auctions on as well as portfolio by Artists, they both have their differences, layout differences & separate pros & cons. Most artists use one or the other or both. They have similar features but they all have their differences and different functions.
Comparison(Pros & Cons)
To make it easier to those who do not use the sites or are not artists, here is a list of pros & cons of both the sites which you can use to decide your answer but the best way to do this is by personal experience.
YCH.Commishes
Rules - Decent & Respectable
Filtering - Very limited, does not offer custom filtering but does let you filter by rating of Safe, Questionable, Explicit or Shock. Content rating is displayed on YCH Auctions but not on Portfolio art/uploads.
Portfolio Software - Good, very well developed & filters work for filtering out any rated content you don’t want to see, unfortunately does not offer filtering for subjects you don’t want to see.
Bans & Appeals - Does not offer on-site support with appeals, appeals are dealt with off-site on 3rd party softwares such as discord.
Reporting Content - Offers only a report function for auctions, not for uploads or accounts; no communications or responses are held.
Community - Quite big & Active, but nice.
Pricing range - Pricing is often fair but some auction fights can go insanely far
Bidding Protection & Sniping - Offers protection against last-minute bidding sniping by adding a extra 10 minutes. They also allow users to auto-bid
Notifications - Notifications are given by Email.

Rules - Good but some may struggle to understand them.
Filtering - Filtering is very good, it offers a range of filtering out any content by rating including if its a suggestive auction, auctions do not display their rating so it is not very easy to tell what the rating will be of the art on the site. It also offers filtering out content by words/subjects meaning if you do not want to see certain auctions by subject, you don’t have to.
Portfolio Software - Portfolio software is neat and simple, however the filters do not hide content you have filtered by rating or word.
Bans & Appeals - Simple, can be managed on-site or on a 3rd party media.
Reporting Content - Offers reporting profiles entirely, Auctions & contacting staff directly about a problem on-site. Staff are really friendly and also give a response within 24-hours in regards to your report, action taken as well as a thank you & if anything else would need to be said or reported as well before the ticket/message is closed. They also offer a level system of how serious the report is which is handy.
Community - Fairly small; not as large as YCH.Commishes but Very wholesome, Friendly & Helpful.
Pricing range - Usually okay but a lot/most auctions are heavily overpriced & out of budget for a lot of clients.
Bidding Protection & Sniping - Offers Auto-Bid & Sniping Protection. It also offers joint multiple slots of up to 8 on the same auction.
Notifications - Notifications are pinged by email as well as the sites own personal notification inbox making it hard for you to miss a thing.
My overall choice & Opinion
Overall, they are both good sites but I am curious to know which one is the best and most favourite here.
I personally prefer YCH.Art as it has a easier & friendlier layout, offers filters not just only by rating, easier to resell auctions that didn’t sell, Safer community and easier report system as there is communication; a thing not many sites offer, it offers ways to pay on-site instead of going off-site it unfortunately only works with Paypal currently though but I hope they can add Boosty as a function for this too. I have used both sites for awhile and have a fair amount of experience with them both; however, if theres any information and stuff I have left out please let me know & I will add it!
I feel like one thing that would improve YCH.Art is upgrading the Portfolio system and getting the filter system to also work on Artwork too as it either seems to be broken or not work at all. A few things that would also improve that system is adding titles, descriptions & tagging to Portfolio posts; this would fix the issue with it not being filtered as well as filter content by rating. Another thing that would help is for people to see a auctions safety rating.
As for improvements to YCH.Commishes, it would to be a bit more relaxed on things, explain things a bit more easier to users; especially those who do not have “English” as their first native language or are genuinely new to art/the site, Offer custom filters by words/tags, add a improved tagging system and a report button for profiles & Portfolio/Artwork uploads too; I have seen plenty of profiles and portfolio uploads that are against their rules such as stolen/traced artwork, uncredited base or incorrect rating(Aka explicit content marked as safe) the site only currently lets you report these issues manually by a 3rd party software such as their discord server.
I am aware YCH.Commishes is doing some improvement updates and major changes to their site currently; which may make me change my overall opinion of preferring YCH.Art over Commishes, I do love both sites & am aware they are both subject to changes as they’re still in-development.
