You’re still considered an Artist. It’s just a hobby, and not your bread and butter. That’s not a bad thing. Again, you shouldn’t sell yourself short since you put effort into making things and you even got featured one time. You have skills.

I’ve gotten better at drawing over the years (mostly because I’m drawing pony stuff for here, although I do have 2 distinctively different styles. Not used the other for drawing ponies as it’s not really compatible with the cute design).

There’s just a multitude of artists here that are leagues ahead of anything I can achieve.

I was pleasantly surprised to get a featured image here, and I was grateful for the opportunity to be in the spotlight. Personally I’d have said the one I did with Fluttershy having knocked the vase over would have been a better choice of image for the feature but I’m not complaining.

I’m gonna be sticking with human drawings when it comes to ponies.

Just need practice. This picture is the fastest I’ve ever drawn a pony.
Blank sheet of paper to fully coloured pony drawing in around 7 minutes.

(Tend to take around an hour on most of my drawings if it’s a single character, but there I was just testing myself).

2021 has been my most active year ever in making artwork through my cheapass pencil and sketchbook.

The first quarter of the year had full of momentum in terms of creative ideas that got out of my thoughts. But right after April Fools Day, all that hype train suddenly derails after suffering from a burnout and getting easily tired after finishing a drawing due to the fact it was my first time being active and busy in drawing things that don’t usually last for several hours (mostly more than 10 hours) spending time doing these.

The long-term effect became the laziness, procrastinations, and worsened insomnia that held back my activity until the last quarter where I finally got back at it. My endurance was enhanced which was probably a good thing because of my previous experience, learning from dozens of tutorials, and being motivated from observing other traditional artists and their time-saving techniques.

I’m hoping I could draw more and much improved this year.
