I was reading a paper earlier how we are currently in the beginning of what is being described as the “Fourth Industrial Revolution”. This one is far more different than the last 3.
 
For comparison, technology has advanced more swiftly in the last 10 years that the proceeding 100 combined. The disruptions to the global job market are immense, and recently have started to trickle even into the 3rd world.
 
This means that job loss through automation is not longer just a 1st world issue.
 
The global economy is not prepared for the full ramifications of this 4th revolution. Even less so of we cross the ever elusive Singularity.
