I am distasteful toward people who take certain careers if they could afford other careers, like coal mining, for instance, because of its environmental impact, or military jobs, because I an pacifistic toward unnecessary wars. I consider myself to be a bit too radical toward these things and even rude for even having these beliefs. I hate this about myself but at the same time, I do not want to change it.
On Veteran’s Day, my school had a mandatory assembly, and we had a speaker who asked us to recite a prayer for our fallen soldiers, which I ignored because it involved praying to something I do not believe in and supporting our soldiers, which I do not agree with. I only support those who refuse to fight on the offensive unless the loss of life will be less if offensive actions are taken, like those who attacked the central powers in World War Two. As people in the military cannot choose whether or not they will fight or support soldiers in these very specific situations and they are just signing their will over to a contract, I do not support any soldiers, and not even my father, who was an airplane mechanic. This is why I see myself as an asshole.
However, I will not mock somebody for choosing a “poor-quality” job. I am not saying this to defend myself, but I am just relating it to your comment.
