Also: don’t panic. We don’t know just what this result is going to cause. In fact, for all we know absolutely nothing will change. And really, wallowing in gloom won’t do any good.
So they’re closing one of the few remaining Sears locations near me by late July. Good! Sears sucks! They’ve been sucking for a long time! They have no place in the modern retail landscape! Let’s put a Target or Trader Joe’s there…and maybe, a FREAKIN’ STARBUCKS! My area needs more stand-alone Starbucks locations!
@NotYourAverageLurker
Whenever I go to Starbucks (or any coffee house for that matter) I drink mainly mochas (especially white chocolate mochas), and I go to Starbucks mainly for the wi-fi.
@Hypnosryan
Because the DNC decided in there infinite fucking wisdom that an unlikeable person with the charisma of a brick would somehow be better than someone who could get people with positive energy.
Except that even while it was on the books, ISPs did a lot of sneaky things with their QoS to avoid getting into trouble. “Net Neutrality” pretty much only ever existed on paper.
I’m just saying, I don’t think much is going to change and we shouldn’t act as if everything we ever did or will do on the Internet is just going to poof out of existence.
@Jarkes
But it will be a massive pain in the ass for streaming services and will cause “New packages” to come up that will be more expensive but offer you the same service you had before Net Neutrality died.
You don’t know that for certain. Honestly, panicking over what MIGHT happen isn’t going to help. I’d much rather keep moving forward and not be all doom and gloom and shit.
