My stepfather is (loudly) watching a worship service on TV right now in the other room.  
There are no words in Elvish, Entish or the tongues of men to describe how disgusted I feel right now.

What is your job?

Medical courier. I get to handle urine, feces, blood and “secretions” and risk coming into contact with pathogens should any of the containers leak. All for 11 dollars an hour and no benefits.
 
I highly doubt this job will get me closer to my goal of being a medical researcher. If anything it just teases me by forcing to visit the labs I wish I was working in. This job is literally the best I could find after putting in dozens of applications.

Med transporters where I live make about 15 to 17 at least.

I also only work maybe 6 or 7 hours per day and only 2 days per week and have to battle heavy traffic. This is a job for retired men who just want something to do. I’m the only one working here under 70. All because this society won’t allow me to have a real job like this trucking job where I would have just drive a little box truck loading and unloading truck parts and would have been home every night and wouldn’t have to memorize pages and pages of procedures. Pay starts at 25 an hour and goes up to 30 and there’s tons of overtime. I had the credentials, I applied, the position has been filled.
 
I dont want to be a trucker but that would be really good way to save up and pay for med school and even a small house!

Speaking if medical stuff, some senator in Washington state badmouthed nurses, claiming they didn’t work hard enough.
 
Says a women who doesn’t do an hour of work in a day. Damn senators.
 
This sound political, but it’s not. Nothing to do with her policies, just hate people who work in cushy jobs shit talking people who actually work for a living.

Have you considered applying for a pharma tech job? My cousin, who has no medical experience just got hired as one.

Yes actually. All the jobs though prefer a medical degree so I’m at the bottom of the list. I can’t even get a job as a lab assistant. In fact I couldn’t even get a job as a courier for the hospital even though I have a CDL! I have no criminal record or anything that may scare an employer away. I’m just not wanted, neither socially or professionally.

Michigan, specifically west Michigan which is known for its medical facilities. Medical Mile in Grand Rapids is home to some of the best hospitals and doctors in the Midwest. You’d think there would be some opportunities but apparently everyone in west MI wants to get into the medial field and competition here is fierce.

Idk how rooted you are there, but have you considered moving to a different state where there is less competition and where your skills would be less common than they are there? It seems like your problem is that there are too many people like you competing for the same jobs all in one location.

Can’t move right now although I’d like to. Don’t have the money. I don’t even know where I’d go. MI does have some good stuff going for it though, marijuana for example is legal here and you better belive people were literally partying in the streets on today of all days. Also we don’t have to have state inspections or front plates on our cars. Car insurance is the most expensive in the country though.

I’m in a similar boat. I live in Los Angeles where there are plenty of jobs and opportunities, but the cost of living is astronomically high, the gun laws suck, people drive like shit, and as you can see from my profile pic, we’re absolutely forced to have front plates.

Same with me. I live just outside Provo, Utah. Gambling of any kind (lotteries included) is totally prohibited, alcohol is taxed and regulated to hell, we also have to have front plates on our car, and the cost of housing is starting to get too high (even for a “cheap” state like Utah.)

That’s part of what contributes to the ultra high living costs. Our weather is too nice.

Hurricanes are somewhat of a concern with regards to that. A house owned by my parents was destroyed by Katrina in Louisiana. I’m thinking of looking for property in Arizona at the moment.
