People who stick around to watch/read/listen to something that they are no longer a fan of or lost faith in and continuing to hate and bash it shouldn’t be taken seriously. Apparently, moving on to better things and no longer having empathy on it is such hard work for these people and don’t want to put in the effort of just quitting entirely… :/

I never said anything like that, and I don’t hold this belief either. If you hate a work, then you hate a work, simple as that. What I’m saying is that sticking around to criticize something long after you lose interest in it instead of forgetting about it and moving on is a counterintuitive thing to do.

To use this fandom as a ‘random’ example, the interest in the show can be lost, but there’s some enjoyment that can remain, friends to be made here, enemies as well, art and other projects, and there’s always a chance your interest can be peaked again.
 
Interest is a renewable resource, in the right hands.
 
And I apologize for misreading your comment on empathy and hard work, let’s call that a mostly unrelated vent.

And that’s fine. Getting back into the work that you lost interest in is great, and it has happened with this fandom, I’m referring to the ones where no matter what the work does, they still bash it to hell and back and brag that their glad to “not be a fan of this garbage” for like the hundredth time. Move on for fucks sake!
