i mean they could literally go might no. 9 on us and have a 2 hour dr. strange death montage (dormammu getting creative around the 1:15 mark and doing strange dying by rubber chicken).

he’s literally someone who ascended to a higher plane of existence (his sister keeps a physical form even (though they’re supposed to be equal in power ) because she likes the sex). arrogance is pretty much expected.

why is there such a hard-on against CG (and almost a fanatical reverence the moment “pratical effects” is mentioned) in the nerd community?
 
for example:
 
so much complaints about the look and the character when it debuted  
 
solely because of being CGI (JUST cgi, the quality of the still and animation don’t matter much) but a lot changed their minds when the suit version appeared

Probably because it’s so popular to do, looks terrible if you don’t do it right, can look obviously fake, and I guess practical effects just show more work and creativity.

Because nerds hate change, the people who once sat in awe of star wars for revolutionizing effects while older critics bitched about it being it being set in space are now those same old people bitching and moaning because they don’t like to be reminded that they are becoming obsolete,

except the standards for criticism between the two seems to be on two different planes of reality. people will literally say “you can see the pixelation here, there. the texture is off in these scenes” but when you say the “suit looks fat” someone will call you out.
 
then you see comparisons to guys in suits and guys in mocap

Well yeah, costumes will usually(hopefully) look less silly in production than mocap. And I guess you can get more sympathetic to image offness with costumes because they’re(what i think counts as) handmade, and CG to teh layman is just punching in on a computer, much easier to fix.
 
And, to add to the second response, maybe they don’t hate change full stop, and maybe every supposed upgrade can have downsides.

Man, screw this traffic on the way to NC. Took two hours just to get to past the stopped traffic on I-81. Too many other people coming down here to see the eclipse, or going to college, etc.
 
Doesn’t help that this car is a stick-shift, and the AC is broken.

I weep for what daytime tv has become. between this the ‘eat ultra healthy or your a villian’ and .. other stuff …  
over a thousand channels and 90% is crap.
