Buy a bunch of Windows 95/98 computers, nobody will attack those and you’ll be able to keep all your files in a safe, shitty, place. :P
 
Besides, what are you running? If the computer is 4 years old, I guess you are running Windows 7, that or Windows 8 or 8.1?
 
These versions still have support, I don’t get why you wouldn’t be able to get any help.

What’s with people and having bad grammar :/

A number of reasons for that.
 
Usually it’s either that the user your talking to is 8-10(maybe 11?) years old, that, or the user is from a another country and doesn’t know English grammar well.

Anyway, it’s backing up, but it’s been stuck at 10% for the past several minutes.

You probably would’ve had to call customer service if things went to hell, and since HP wasn’t showing the model, they probably would’ve had to charge you extra over some bullshit. At least it is recovering.

…And now the reality of the situation is crashing down on me.
 
Because now, if I get a new computer, I won’t have Photoshop. Or Premiere. Or Pro Tools. Or any of my songwriting software. Or my WIP videos that I wanted to complete and upload this month.
 
So basically, I’m screwed. TheHappySpaceman Productions is screwed. I’ll have to start from scratch.
 
BUT HEY, AT LEAST I’M NOT A STARVING AFRICAN CHILD, RIGHT?! I HAVE IT SOOOO EASY!

Please, please, please do not resort to that, don’t even kid about it. That is a very rash move over a couple of files, I know that you’ll lose everything and have to start over, but you still got your health, you can get it done again, it will take some hard work but you’ll get there.
 
Just please, don’t resort to suicide.
