Malaysian here. And I agree, this is horrible. I get that sometimes wardens are tough but they shouldn’t go this far.
 
 
As for you, @Thanotos Omega, that’s a bit extreme. I don’t support physical abuse but there is a thing called physical discipline and the difference between the two are on thin line.
 
Disciplining someone through words alone is retarded and anyone who thinks so is a failure of a parent.

Physical discipline is a failed tactic, to this day my anger and disgust with my parents over spanking me colors my relationship with them to a degree, and that’s damn near 17 years ago,

Ok, let’s ask this important question. How “transparent” does the government have to be towards its people? Do we need to know the location, name, and identities of everyone that works for the CIA and NSA, also knowing their cover-names if they’re trying to gain intelligence on terrorist activities?
 
I won’t stand here and say what the US government was doing, spying on their allies and such, was ethical or acceptable. At the same time, there are necessary evils that must be done.

Except laws in communist countries are very strict on gambling. Example: When Castro succeeded in taking control of the Cuban Government, all the nightclubs and casinos that didn’t go underground were banned/shut down. North Korea, Vietnam and China are no exception. Also,
 
the guy quoted by Warc9 might have some point, but they are but a brain-dead usefool pawn. I know someone who says that most people in North Korea like Kim Jong Un. I am not buying the validity of that. Where did that statistic come from? How can we trust that the people there in North Korea that support him are all being honest about how they feel about man, and aren’t saying it so they won’t get arrested and sent to jail for not complying with the party line? Also, even though health-care very often costs lower in that country than on ROK(aka South Korea), that does not equal quality health-care.

Honestly what pissed me off more was how my parents would give me grief for shouting or using physical violence against my older brother when he would annoy me. It wasn’t the fact that I was being scolded for losing my temper but how he practically gets off scot free or a slap on the wrist for bullying me.  
Must be a culture thing but it’s still pretty damn annoying . I wouldn’t be so pissed off if they actually scolded him as well once in a while.
