A lot of it should be taken with a grain of salt of course.
The shows that stagnate don’t really have a quality decline, its more like the original audience outgrew it and the premise didn’t attract anybody new.

Star Trek: The Next Generation was overhauled. The first season is mostly terrible, but then Roddenberry stepped down from making major creative decisions and allowed the writers a stronger voice.
The whole series was saved because the creator knew when to step back.
Is there any show that changed in a good direction?

That is a good question. I guess it could have been made for the LGBT+ community, except saying that bisexuals don’t exist kind of throws out that theory.
