I think it’s more likely that the movie was put on hold for a bit so that Tartokovsky could work on the final Samurai Jack season.
 
Though I do hear that if it does get made now, Tartokovsky won’t be involved.

I honestly thought the samurai jack reboot was.. mediocre

I feel it would have been better if || Jack never got back to the past, and instead had to deal with life in the future after defeating Aku||

I thought the live action movie with Robin Williams was actually really good, personally feeling that he had Popeye down really well even if the overall story might not have been the greatest.
