Disney should just release Song of the South already, maybe on a small-scale DVD/Blu-ray release if they don’t want to attract a lot of attention. Honestly, due to the movie’s infamy, continuing to deny its existence like they’re doing is probably the worst move they could make.

The Disney Family Museum in San Francisco acknowledged its existence, but it didn’t really mention the controversy.
 
Heck, just do the thing that those Warner Bros. Tom & Jerry DVDs did.
 
Honestly, though, as far as racially insensitive shit from the 40’s goes, Song of the South was pretty tame.

Hell, it was a big part of one of the big Disneyland/Disney World attractions, and the song itself is seen as a Disney classic, yet outside of that, they deny its existence.

It’s really not. Hell, the animation quality still holds up, and the actor who plays Uncle Remus does a great job.
