Yah, I’m going to say “Oh, hell no”, to this. At least when considering the DCEU, I feel Nolan was the biggest offender in making the DC Universe, as well its characters far too damned dark and depression. I mean sure, he could get away with it more with Batman, but in my personal opinions, he was the director for one of the worse iterations of Superman ever. Even with Batman, he is the creator of one of my least favorite Jokers.
 
Edit: Well okay, Jack Snyder was a bigger offender for Superman, but Christopher Nolan still produced.

I’m pretty sure Nolan hasn’t done anything in the DCEU. If you are talking about The Dark Knight trilogy, then that is not related to the DCEU at all.

Christopher Nolan was the producer of Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice, I actually edited my last post acknowledging that Jack Snyder was a bigger influance of those two movies, but Nolan was still apart of it. That, and the overall darker tone was very much because of the Dark Night trilogy.

Which is something I’ve said before the unfortunate influencing and missing of the point of Nolan Batman to say nothing of fluctuation of Batman movie tones over the years.

In my opinion, two of the best Batman series was the The Batman Arkham trilogy of games, Batman the Animated Series, and yes even the Justice League Animated Series. Also, even if it may have had its issues, the movies by Tim Burton personally.
 
The Joker has been especially frustrating, as apart from Mark Hamill, everyone else forgets that the Joker is supposed to be the Clown Prince of Crime, with a comedy themed if also deadly arsenal of gadgets. That the best part of the Joker is his dynamic and relationship with Batman, their chemistry together as opposing forces.
 
Hell, despite being the most kid friendly and silly, the Lego Batman movie gets this right better then pretty much any of the live action movies. That is what is so frustrating. Even more with the new Joker movie, completely divorced from Batman mythos. Even Batman the Brave and the Bold has a better understanding the DC comics, embracing the more fantastical and even silly aspects of the DC universe. Of why serious and more “realistic” is not always better.

You’re talking to a guy who has said “realism is overrated”.  
It has its place there are times when it can be appreciated but people believe realistic automatically means better which recent Disney movies (Lion King in particular) illustrate is not the case.

MK Lore is good.

The colored version of Bone I’m reading is the one from Scholastic. Interestingly, Disney Adventures had already colorized the first storyline, but Scholastic didn’t use that version, probably because it censored things like smoking, beer, sexual innuendos, and even removing whole panels.

Bone is about the Bone cousins–Fone Bone, Phoney Bone, and Smiley Bone–as they stumble into a valley and get separated. It mixes joke-a-day comic book aesthetics with epic Lord of the Rings-type fantasy.
 
I’ll put it to you this way: Imagine that you’re a kid who didn’t grow up with Avatar: The Last Airbender but really needed to get your fix of fantasy series set in a unique world that blended serious action and conflict with moments of hilarity. That’s what reading the Bone comics was like for me as a kid.
 
Plus, Thorn. She was an absolute badass.
