I honestly just avoid any of the sites ending in "-chan" (incidentally, what’s this "8chan" site that apparently recently cropped up? I’ve also seen people refer to a "12chan," but I couldn’t tell if that was an actual thing or if it was just a term used to mock those types of sites). It’s better for my sanity that way.

So is "12chan" actually a thing, or was the person who used the name probably just mocking those types of sites (I should note that the person who used the "12chan" name was our good friend TexasUberAlles, who brought it up when he was saying that he avoids such sites)?

12Chan was a thing. It’s where a bunch of pedos fled after being booted from the other *chans so they could post their borderline cp. A lot of people like to use 12Chan as a strawman as an example to demonize all the other chans.

And there are a lot of chan sites. Lots of them are just in other languages.

Hey, does this count? I just got told I was "racist against the French" by some 16 year old brat after I asked the Louisiana-accent barista in a coffee shop to repeat herself because I was having trouble understanding her.

I said to the brat that no, in fact that did not make me racist, and went off on a brief but polite explanation as to why… completely in French, which made the kid shit some serious bricks.

And now me and this barista are bros.
