My grandfather was a Tanker during the Korean War, he was stationed in Germany though, probably as a defense in case the Soviets decided to invade.
His role was tank commander, and the tank he commanded was a M-47 Patton medium tank. He and his crew nicknamed it “coed” (it wasn’t actually coed).
He is almost 90 now and has severe dementia, he can rarely remember my family members names. And on top of that he has very poor hearing. Which started when he was at the tank firing range and stuck his head out with no ear protection.
