Old School, Melodic or Math Metalcore?

or youtube mixes just that comes under “best metalcore”. I don’t understand mostly the lyrics, so… But i like how it sounds. :D

Now it looks like it could be anyone’s game to reach number one. After Someone You Loved drops down, the possible candidates to take its place could be Circles, Good As Hell, Memories (because it’s Maroon 5) and maybe when 2020 comes, Dance Monkey could be the first number one song of the 2020’s decade.

U2s only worthwhile material was their first three and even then id rather just listen to Echo and the Bunnymen or The Chameleons. Their later non-Post-Punk stuff is a joke.
 
U2 arent brought up as often as Husker Du, The Replacements, Mission of Burma or whatever other bands in “music nerd” circles for the fact that their popularity overshadows every other band that helped grow Alt Rock and were by far the most polished and watered down of the bunch.

I hope the next Offspring album will have their classic sound. Really not a fan of the twiny pop punk they’ve been playing since Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace (that album always made me cry when I listened to it)
 
I miss the sound they had between Ixnay on the Hombre and Splinter.

My Boy Lollipop is such a dopey and sugary-sweet song that it boggles the mind as to why it almost went to number one, in the same year when The Beatles broke through in America. And everyone wonders why the singer became a one hit wonder.

Lol Vampire Weekend is being trashed by Normies for being nominated for AOTY by the Grammys

Watching “The Top 10 worst rock songs of 1990” (thanks Spaceman for linking me this video), I wish that the guy would get his point across a lot easier and stop slowing down the video to meander on and on, it just takes me out of it. That and he over exaggerates himself too frequently for the sake of a joke.
 
As for the selections themselves, don’t have that much of an opinion on them really. The only ones I recognized were the Joan Jett song, the Nelson song (obviously) and the number one spot, Cherry Pie by Warrant. I agree with the him on the last one cause I never liked that one to begin with.

Warrant’s frontman talked about how much he despises the Song to the point it makes him depressed that hes known for it

I don’t blame him, and it’s not their only known song, they also have “Heaven” which was the bigger hit.

The thing is, if you listen to the rest of the Cherry Pie album, it’s actually a pretty damn good album apart from the title track. They were basically obligated to write the title track because the radio wanted a potential hit single, so they did it in fifteen minutes and didn’t put any thought into it.

What about “Dream Warriors” by Dokken? Wasn’t that their only hit?

I checked their discography and no. That song only charted on the mainstream rock charts and they had others that peaked at around the same number on that chart. Their biggest song was Alone Again which made it up to #64 on the Hot 100, but even then I don’t consider them one hit wonders since they never had a hit to begin with.

Outside of Bon Jovi Def Leppard and GnR(who are more Hard Blues Honestly) most Hair Metal bands weren’t really big even if mainstream
 
And even those three were getting their asses kicked by Michael Jackson Prince and Madonna who pretty much created modern pop music
 
And then you had U2 and The Police and Dire Straits
 
It feels like the whole “Hair Metal dominated the 80’s” is only true from a Rockist perspective , looking at the list of “100 best selling albums in the US in the 80’s” it becomes even more clear
