Excellent! But we still need more countries who will do this. Austria has a good chance for that, too, the top candidate for the EU election of our Social Democratic Party said that the entire party is against upload filters and will fight Article 13 (now Article 17).

I don’t believe for a second that we were against anything, it’s become quite regular these days to be promised one thing and have the complete opposite be done to us. Sorry for sounding like a conspiracy nut, but in this case, I don’t believe there was ever going to be anything but a resounding “Yes” from our representatives.

Well, that’s the unfortunate part, not only do we in Sweden have several political parties, they’re all made up of some variation of scumbag. On the left you got people who don’t seem to be living in the same reallity as the rest of us, and on the right you basically have Republicans-Light, with all the baggage that comes with that, plus the sort-of nazis.

Just do research and see what the parties in your country and their members say about Article 13 (now Article 17). Then vote for those who spoke out against it and who said they aren’t in support of it.  
The most important thing right now is to stop Article 13 (now Article 17).

So after today’s results, I think we’re in a good place at the moment.
 
But I wouldn’t let my guard down yet, there’s still work to be done down the road.

Looking good here in Austria too. Our Social Democratic Party, that is fiercely against Article 13 (now Article 17), didn’t win and instead, the party whose top candidate voted FOR the article won. But we have three other parties here in Austria who are against Article 13 (now Article 17) and upload filters. And together, these four parties have 11 seats in the EU parliament now, while the one pro-uploadfilter party has only 7 now. So that party can be outvoted in any future decisions easily.  
A couple votes are still missing, of those who voted via letters instead of coming to the polling location, but it’s not to expect that there will be any major changes. Those who support Article 13 (now Article 17) here in Austria are vastly outnumbered by those who don’t.

I think some portions of the Green Party are against Article 13 but I’m not sure if the entire party as a whole is.
 
Them gaining such large wins could be helpful.

From what I’ve been hearing, Macron is facing some tough competition recently and since France is up first to implement this, it’ll be the moment of truth in showing how backwards the Directive can be which will greatly increase outrage and criticism in our Favour while also damaging all the Pro-Directive supporters in the process.
