I’m going to reiterate what others said and say it’s your own fault for getting riled up by Youtube comments. Seriously, 99% are garbage with a small 1% that have comments that are reasonable. Caulifla is being a bit haughty which is understandable since
1.) She’s a full-blooded Saiyan, who are notorious for their cockiness and
are obsessed with strength.
2.) She’s a punk who happens to be the leader of a gang, so slapping Goku’s hand is rude but in-character.
3.) This is a Tournament to decide the fate of their existence so they can’t be chummy.
4.) Cabba didn’t tell her that she learned ‘Super Saiyan’ from Goku and Vegeta so she doesn’t know how really strong they are, and it seems like she can’t sense Power Levels well otherwise she would’ve been a bit concerned about the Pride troopers.
A couple things, you call Toriyama a ‘crap writer’ but you’re actually hoping Caulifla to ring out Goku in first couple of minutes or so…which is crap writing. I like Universe 6 Saiyan Girls, but come on, don’t delude yourself. In only a few hours, these girls have just scratched the surface of ‘Super Saiyan’. They don’t even know about ‘God Ritual’. Cauli can’t sense Power Levels which means she’s in for a very rude awakening when the fighting gets started. Honestly, I hope both girls get some good moments, especially Kale who desperately needs some development.
You don’t get Goku’s character if you think the original is just a selfish prick and the old american dub portrayed him as the hero that he should be. He loves fighting strong guys, but he can’t stand when innocent people are harmed. When he gets involved, things tend to somehow work out in the end. A good comparison to his character would be Luffy’s from One Piece, since both want to be #1, have their faults, but are nice people. The Funi dubs have a place in my heart, but the old stuff/dub-isms aren’t accurate to the characters.
